SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer – Makeup Setting Spray

The SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer is a Korean makeup setting spray offered in three versions: Glow for a luminous, hydrated finish, Shield for a soft matte finish, and Cool for a fresh feel. All three use a gas-free pump that releases a very fine setting mist, designed to settle as an even veil over makeup without droplets.

When makeup melts in the heat, SELF BEAUTY recommends the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Cool: it sets a base that shines and shifts, while bringing a fresh feel. If your main concern is excess oil, the matte Shield is the alternative. Both are sprayed at least 15 cm from the face.

That is what it is designed for: the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Glow is for people whose base lifts or cracks in the afternoon and who feel tight despite using mists. Its thin, hydrating veil settles over makeup to keep a supple look, even in dry indoor air. Spray generously until skin feels lightly moist.

All three versions of the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer contain denatured alcohol, at different levels according to the manufacturer's formula: about 1.9% in Shield, 3.8% in Glow and 7.6% in Cool, which also contains 0.03% menthol. Water remains the main ingredient, at over 85% in each version.

Shake the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Glow two or three times, then hold it about 20 cm from your face. Spray five times in an X shape: forehead, cheeks, T-zone, chin. Too close, the mist can pool. Let it air-dry without touching: once dry, the luminous veil appears and wear improves.

The SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Glow contains three plant extracts highlighted by the brand: lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), oregano (Origanum vulgare leaf) and spearmint (Mentha viridis), presented for skin comfort and soothing. The formula also contains glycerin and soybean extract, which support the hydrated feel of the luminous veil.

Biosaccharide gum-4 is a polysaccharide highlighted by SELF BEAUTY in the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Shield: according to the brand, it forms a protective veil that limits the adhesion of external particles and helps hold in skin hydration. It is paired with moringa seed extract, chosen for its effect on the adhesion of impurities.

For both the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Shield and Cool, shake the bottle well, then spray at least 15 cm from your face, four to five times, until the whole face feels lightly moist. Let it dry completely: the setting film that forms improves wear. SELF BEAUTY suggests doing this about ten minutes before heading out.

A skin tolerance test (24-hour patch) was carried out by the True Skin Clinical Trial Center for the Shield and Cool versions of the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer. All versions do, however, contain fragrance and alcohol. For very sensitive skin, SELF BEAUTY advises testing first on the back of the hand before using the spray on the face.

Yes. The manufacturer's ingredient list for the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Shield includes hydrolysed wheat protein (about 0.1%). If you are allergic or sensitive to wheat, or avoid this ingredient, choose the Glow or Cool version, or ask a health professional. According to their formulas, Glow and Cool do not contain it.

Do not spray the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer directly into the eyes: close them while spraying and keep the recommended distance. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with clean water. Close the cap after use. If the nozzle clogs, wipe it with a cotton pad soaked in toner or alcohol to restore a fine mist.

Lightly spray the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer onto your sponge or brush before applying blush, highlighter or eyeshadow: SELF BEAUTY says this improves colour wear. On days when you wear only sunscreen, a mist of fixer on top helps limit shine and slipping during the day.

The SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Shield contains three forms of hyaluronic acid (hyaluronic acid, hydrolysed hyaluronic acid and sodium hyaluronate), of high, medium and low molecular weight according to the brand, to help balance water and oil. It also contains mint leaf, holy basil (Ocimum sanctum) and neem extracts, presented for soothing.

AIRLASTING™ is the ultra-thin film technology of the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Cool. According to SELF BEAUTY, it forms a light, flexible film on the skin that follows facial movement rather than freezing the makeup. The formula combines hollyhock, Cynanchum atratum, green tea, apple mint and thyme extracts, plus menthol.

Yes. The SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer can be re-sprayed over makeup during the day: its very fine mist does not make the base slide. According to user feedback reported by the brand for the Glow version, two to three light touch-ups a day are common. Keep the same distance as for the first application and let it dry.

The SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer Glow leaves a hydrated, “from within” radiance, focused on sheen rather than shine. Shield gives a soft matte, non-sticky finish that limits dust and hair sticking to the face. Cool leaves a fresh, light veil designed for hot days. None is designed to leave the face wet.

All three versions of the SELF BEAUTY UNICONIC Fixer are fragranced, with the aim of avoiding the fermented smell of some setting sprays. Glow has a floral fruity musk scent.
